Spooky season is here.
If you’re in the mood for a real scare, there are several haunted house options in the Sioux Falls area. From the scares on hand, to costs and schedule, here’s what you need to know.
This year, the Jaycees Feargrounds, established in 1974, will host a “Backwoods Nightmare,” theme.
The haunted house is 6,000 square feet and located in the Fine Arts building of the W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds, where it has been since 1998. Each ticket for the haunted houses goes toward Jaycee projects, including the July 4 fireworks celebration and the Holiday Gifts for Kids program, which serves more than 400 families, according to the organization’s website.
All times 7 p.m., to midnight, unless noted.
Entry fee: Tickets can be purchased online for $12 or $17 at the gate. There’s also an additional fast pass for $5. Military and first responders receive a discount with ticket prices for $11 with a valid ID. To get $1 off of the ticket price, people can bring three canned good items while purchasing tickets at the gate.
