Washington, MO (September 19, 2022) – A crash that took place on Sunday morning in Washington County left two teens severely injured. At around 9:55 a.m., on September 18, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Highway 8.
Preliminary reports show that the driver of a 2014 Ford Focus failed to yield the right-of-way while attempting to make a left turn at the intersection of Highway 8 and Route U. As a result, the vehicle collided with a 2019 Ford F150 pickup truck. Both vehicles were total due to the impact of the crash.
Two people suffered severe injuries in the crash. The victims were identified as a 13-year-old male and a 16-year-old female from Mineral Point, Missouri. Both victims were transported by Washington County ambulance to Mercy Hospital South, where they underwent emergency treatment.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash at this time.
