LISBON, Wis. (CBS 58) — There are 15 homes you can walk through during this year’s Parade of Homes, and they show off the latest trends and technologies.  Many people have had big lifestyle changes since the pandemic, and that means builders have seen requests to accommodate them.
“Our flex room has always served as a potential office space, but now we’ve got our little pocket office right off of the kitchen — could be bill-paying area, could be craft room,” said Pete Lange, the director of Homebuilding Services for Tim O’Brien Homes. “Then on the second floor too, kind of study stations as well. So that people can be in the home many more hours and can be doing things that we didn’t historically do at home.”
The Parade of Homes is a good place to meet a builder and see their work.
“It’s hard to see what a builder builds from a showroom, so it’s really good to see the finished product,” said Joe Meyer, the owner of UBuildIt.

But it can also be a place just to see the latest styles and changes in home design.
“We’re back to lots of whites and off-whites for colors. So walls, we see a lot of whites this year. For the last several years there’s been lots of different grays, but now the whites are actually coming back,” said Meyer.
Their are 14 different builders that will be on-site to talk to visitors and show off their specialties — whether it’s a family home, a green home or just a special feature, like a large, three-season porch.
“We’ve probably done about 10 or 15 over the past six years, so that’s 20% of the homes we’ve done,” said Ben Perthel with Perthel Homes.
Tickets are just $18 if you buy them online ahead of time. Children and seniors get a discount.
