The Tigers Trust is proud to provide young people with the chance to explore new opportunities and build new skills.
Harvey McCune first engaged with the Trust through delivery of the NCS programme last year and currently stands as Hull City’s longest-serving matchball assistant.
The NCS programme has been delivered for more than a decade to young people aged 15-17 years and allows teenagers the opportunity to learn valuable life skills, build new friendships and engage with social action.
Harvey signed up to the programme in 2021 and said: “I was shown the NCS programme in school and instantly wanted to be involved with the different activities and have the chance to meet new people.”
While on the programme itself, Harvey described his NCS experience as “unforgettable” and says his most cherished memories include visiting a water park, paintballing and working on a business idea with entrepreneur Adam Corbally.
Due to his involvement with the Tigers Trust, Harvey was offered the chance to become a matchball assistant at the start of the 2021/22 Championship season.
Speaking about the role, Harvey said: “The opportunity to be a matchball assistant is definitely a privilege and I’m grateful to be able to watch Hull City each game, especially sitting so close to the pitch and being so close to the players.
“My favourite moment was meeting Keane Lewis-Potter last season when he came to show his and the rest of the team’s appreciation for our efforts.”
The Tigers Trust would like to thank Harvey for his extreme dedication and commitment towards helping the team across the past 15 months and for inspiring others in the process.
